 BOARD OF DIRECTORS
 
North Tahoe Fire Protection District's Board of Directors Meetings
are held on the third Wednesday each month,
at 4:30 p.m.
Tahoe City Public Utility District's Board Room,
221 Fairway Drive, in Tahoe City

THE BOARD REPRESENTS ALL THE VOTERS IN THE DISTRICT
 
The Board is comprised of 5 members representing 5 regions within the Lake Tahoe basin and are selected by registered voters witin the District.  The Board serves as the governing body for the District's more than 15,000 residents.  Members of the Board are elected by geographical Division for 4 years.   
 
BOARD POLICY AND ACTIONS
 
The Board of Directors approves District Rules and Regulations and, through the Fire Chief, ensures adherence to District policies.  District policy and actions may be adopted by motion, or more formally, by resolution.  A motion is a statement approved by the majority of the Board of Directors.  A resolution is a written document, which the Board adopts by majority vote.
 
 
IF YOU WISH TO ADDRESS THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
 
Whether you come to a Board meeting to observe because of general interest, or because a particular item before the Board of Directors has special importance for you, your presence is an important means of helping to ensure informed and responsible government.
 
If your item is not on the agenda, you may speak under the item Comments from the Public.  If your item is on the agenda, the President will call for comments from the audience when the Board reaches that item.  Before speaking, please clearly state your name, address, and if you are a resident of the District.
 
PUBLIC HEARING PROCEDURE
 
Procedures at public hearings are as follows:
        • Staff presentation/recommendation
        • Questions of the staff
        • Individuals speaking in support
        • Questions of the individuals speaking in support
        • Individuals speaking in opposition
        • Questions of individuals speaking in opposition
        • Rebuttal (if any)
        • Public input (if any)
        • Board questions, discussion, and disposition (Vote)

Public participation is encouraged.  In compliance with Section 202 of the American with Disabilities Act of 1990 (42 U.S.C. Sec 12132) and in compliance with the Ralph M. Brown Act, if you need special assistance to enable you to attend and participate in a meeting, or if you need the Agenda or related materials in an alternative format, please contact the Clerk of the Board at (530) 583-6913 at least 48 hours in advance of the meeting.
