Ambulances

Ambulances

The District has six ambulances. Our newest ambulance is configured with a square patient compartment instead of the traditional tapered patient compartment; this provides employees with more room for patient care and more space for emergency equipment storage.

The Truckee Tahoe Airport District assisted with the acquisition of three Automatic Chest Compression Devices and one additional AED, along with the Gary Sinise Foundation who donated two Automatic Chest Compression Devices for the district. The devices provide uninterrupted high-quality, high performance chest compressions to victims of cardiac arrest to achieve life-saving circulation, which frees up the firefighter/paramedic to perform other life-saving interventions at the same time the mechanical chest compressions are being performed during transport to the hospital.

Type 1 Engines

Type 1 Engines

The District has six Type 1 engines (5 in service and 1 in reserve). These engines hold 750 gallons of water, 2,150 feet of hose and, depending on the particular engine, come equipped with a 24 foot extension ladder, 35 foot extension ladder, 10 foot attic ladder or 14 foot roof ladder.

Thanks to funding from the Truckee Tahoe Airport District, two Zoll X-series Advanced Monitor/Defibrillators were put into service in March 2022, helping North Tahoe Fire to achieve our goal of making all five our of Fire Engines Advanced Life Support (ALS Paramedic).  This vital ALS gear allows us to provide ALS Paramedic care to our constituents and visitors if one of our engines arrives at the scene of an emergency incident before an ambulance.

Type 3 Engines
