North Tahoe Regional Community Response Team (CERT)

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program educates individuals about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, including fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.

Using training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT volunteers can assist others in their community following a disaster when professional responders are not immediately available to help.

In 2023, North Tahoe Fire CERT and Incline Village/Crystal Bay CERT (sponsored by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office) merged to form North Tahoe Regional CERT, a regional team certified in both Placer County, California, and Washoe County, Nevada.

The team meets on the first Wednesday of the month. Please contact Michael Sacci for meeting times and locations.

North Tahoe’s CERT program is approximately 50 members strong, and we are always recruiting new members.  Members have the opportunity to participate in all of Washoe County’s free CERT trainings.
