Exterior Defensible Space Inspection Checklist
North Tahoe Fire will collect the fee for and conduct the STR Defensible Space inspections for our district. This inspection is only able to be conducted when snow is clear from the ground.
North Tahoe Fire District (Tahoe City, Kings Beach, Tahoe Vista, Carnelian Bay, Homewood, Tahoma, Alpine Meadows):
Placer County staff will be conducting the STR Fire Life Safety interior inspections beginning January 10, 2024 for all North Tahoe Fire District STR’s. Placer County scheduling staff will be contacting all North Tahoe Fire District property managers or permit holders via phone to schedule your STR Fire Life Safety interior inspection. Beginning 4/1/2024 all new STR permit applicants and those renewing STR permits will be required to have a passing Fire Life Safety interior inspection.
